Creativity & Genre

Jennifer Lamb Creativity & Genre (Blog Post 5)     The importance of creativity/creative process when embarking in a new endeavor in a field ripe with choices is insanely important. If you walk into a new endeavor in a field right with choices with no creativity or creative process at all, you won’t get anywhere in that certain endeavor. In the “Ted Talk” on the Theory of Creativity the guy explained that every time you have a good idea have a note pad near you to write it down, so you don’t forget it, and you’re able to apply those creative ideas to the real life and benefit from it. He also said that naive experts say that when you are trying to solve a challenge, ask others what they think of it so you can have a different perspective on it. There’s plenty of benefits from having different perspectives, for example you can analyze different types of peoples personalities, you can think of others, respect others differences, and correctly reading other people....

To Team or Not to Team

Jennifer Lamb   To team or Not to Team (Blog Post 4)     I’ve decided   that I want to work  independently  and not with a partner or group on my portfolio this year for AICE Media Studies .  Many different types of sources have helped me make my decision on not wanting to work  in a group like the “Social Media Peer Account” activity ,  the “Lost at sea” team   building activity , and the articles I read from Week 6 PowerPoint on personality types, collaboration, and team building.    The “Social Media Peer Account” activity showed me  that I don’t want to work with anyone. I looked at my peer  Nhea's  social media account. I found that she  was   consistent  with  p ostin g  on  Instagram   and also  consisted with posting  stories . Most of the posts were with her friends having a go o d time, and  I think the image  she's  trying to portray on...

Decision Day

Jennifer Lamb   Decision Day (blog post 3)          My initial impressions on InDesign and Premier Pro were very positive. I like both software a lot, they really went above and beyond with  all of  the certain things that you can do to photos and videos. For my project I'm going to use In Design for a magazine. I feel more comfortable with this certain software and I feel like I would do better, it seems a bit more basic, but I'm excited to see what I can do with this software.        I’ve used Premier Pro before in the past and I really liked using it to edit my videos, I was in a class called “TV Production” when I used it. This week when I used this softwire it felt nice, a few things have been updated and it’s great for editing videos. This project, I'm choosing to make a magazine because...

Magazine Cover Review

Jennifer Lamb   MAGAZINE COVER REVIEW (blog post 2)   A few magazines that I'm going to be talking about are GQ, Rolling Stones, Sports Illustrated, Vouge, and Cosmopolitan. Each of these articles that I'm going to be talking about all had very eye-catching covers with interesting photos of very well-known celebrities on them.    My initial impression of the GQ cover was very intriguing. The cover had Travis Scott on the front with dark colors, very mysterious looking. The text was very bright and bold with flames coming from the text. This automatically brings in the reader's attention because of the way the cover is structured and promoted by Travis Scott, a very well-known celebrity. The target audience is men for this magazine, containing a very basic, plain content page. The two feature pages tie in with the cover page,...
